Abbey's Senior Portrait's at the Mount St. Sepulchre Franciscan Monastery in Washington, DC- NJ Senior Photographer

June 18, 2017

Congrats Abby on your graduation from Woodson HS and your acceptance to Virginia Tech! Go Hokies! We are so grateful that Abby took us to her secret hidden piece of paradise in Washington DC. During our phone consultations I alway recommend that our client come to us with a list of special places for optional shoot locations that have a special meaning or feeling for them. When I asked Abby she immediately piped up and said, " I already know where I want to go, I have been planning this for a long time!". She took us to the Mount St. Sepulchre Franciscan Monastery in Washington DC. I had never heard of it nor had I been there but she said its her "quiet place" where she goes to relax and decompress. As we walked through the gardens we started to realize why she would love this place. The gardens were in full bloom with colors galore and hidden amongst them were quaint shrines, replica catacombs and a beautiful catherdral. There were a few people scattered around praying, reflecting and enjoying the tranquillity of their surroundings. This made for a breathtaking backdrop for her session and I feel we all left in awe of the beauty, history and spiritual nature of this place which appeared to be "frozen in time". Abby's sweet nature complimented this perfectly. She was a natural in front of the camera and her laid back personality and fun loving sense of humor made it so easy to let her shine in every image. Thank you Abby ! In case you are ever in Washington DC, please stop by the Mount St. Sepulchre Franciscan Monastery and walk around.
